MY FILMING & EDITING GEAR FOR YOUTUBE: editing ONLY on my ipad, new ipad cases, my vlogging camera!

Why do i do this every single week? I always have to film a sit down pretty for you guys in the morning before work. So if i have my morning voice im, sorry thats, why i make coffee? If you guys are new here, my name is jenna. I film a lot of productivity. Lifestyle bullet journal, videos and vlogs. So if you want to hit subscribe, id really appreciate it. Welcome to a what i use to film and edit all of my youtube videos. You guys have honestly been asking for so long now in the comment section like what camera do, i use? What do i use to edit because honestly cost was a really big reason why i did not want to start my youtube channel. I feel like i was giving myself the excuse of. I cant afford all the nice equipment and if i dont have the nice equipment, then i cant start a channel. So, for me, one of my barriers was just that i didnt want to spend the money its not that i didnt have it. I did. I just didnt want to spend the money and i didnt want to get all these things, because there are a lot of moving parts to having a youtube channel. Welcome to todays video were just going to hang out and chill this morning. I have a whole list here, so if you guys want to see everything that i use to film and edit my youtube videos then lets just go ahead and get started.

Okay. How about we start with my ipad? This is my ipad. We also look at how cute these stickers are you guys theyre, so cute ive accumulated the cutest stickers for my ipad case, but this is the ipad pro 2020 11 inch model and ill take it out of the case for you guys, okay, oh my god. I havent taken it out of its case in so long. I have the 256 gig model, so i do use my ipad completely to edit all of my videos – and i know a lot of you guys – probably know that because i feel like i mention it in my vlogs all the time, but my macbook pro right now That i have right now is like i think, its almost like 10 years old and it barely works. All i can do on. It is honestly just browse the web and make my description box so to actually edit. My macbook does not have the capacity to do that anymore, so i ended up just using my ipad, even though i know this is still pretty expensive. I believe i paid maybe around 700 or a thousand dollars for this thats, still a fraction of the price for a new macbook pro, which is what im really hoping to save up for and purchase. At some point, when i started my youtube channel, i was trying to figure out okay, if im going to edit on my ipad.

What am i going to use to edit what software am i going to use, because i had no idea what to do. I didnt want to use imovie because i just felt like it was a little too basic for me and i wanted something with more features so, but i couldnt afford final cut pro, so i found this app called lumafusion and im so happy that i found it Because i feel like i can do everything all in one device, i dont have to jump from one device to another and its just all here. So if you guys dont have enough money for a new macbook, i would definitely suggest getting an ipad if you want to start a youtube channel. This is the generation 2 apple pencil, and you guys know that. Well, i guess, if you guys dont know, i do use my handwriting for almost all of my text, if its not that, like italic font, its my personal handwriting, which i use on my ipad ive been ranting too long about this ipad already. But i just love this thing, and the case that i have is from case defy. I got this case a year ago now, oh my god, ive had this case for a year. This is an ipad case from case defy, and i love this one. This is the very first one that i ever got, and i still use it to this day when i do want to prop it up on a desk im, not wasting that much space for like space in front of me, and i can just quickly use this To close and open and protect my ipad so yeah, i dont know i dont know what else to say about this case, but ive loved this case.

If you do want to use the camera for the ipad, it has a little opening so that it can stay flat, so you can use the camera there. So, on the left side you have the pencil holder where you can just stick it in place and you know that itll never get lost or you can use the other side to charge your apple pencil. So i dont know. I really like this case case. Spy was actually so nice to send me more of their ipad pro cases and ill get into more detail about those. If you guys want like an in depth review of all the different ipad pro cases that case fine offers, but i got a lot of new ones. They have actually a bunch of different styles, so ill put clips of them here. For you guys to see theres two of the folio case types and theres one with this beautiful banana leaf pattern, the other one is a pocketo collaboration, so its cream and black, with a really nice abstract design on it, a little bit more office appropriate one, a Clear one with my name on it and a clear one with really pretty watercolor butterflies on it too. So i love all the different cases that case fry has. This was also customizable too, so i just put my initials at the very corner and then on the other side, i have all of my stickers so yeah i dont know.

I just cant say enough good things about my ipad pro. I could have never started my youtube channel if i didnt have this, because i had to spend a lot of money and a lot of other ways to start my channel. If you cant afford a new macbook just yet and the last app that i will tell you guys about is procreate, so this is just one example, but i make all of my thumbnails on procreate. I have a whole video on how i use procreate to make my thumbnails so ill link that too, but i use procreate to both make my thumbnails and use the handwritten text. I just think when you can put everything on one device. I can always take this with me on the go. Its very compact and its just very i dont know its very travel friendly. Also, i dont know if you guys would care to know this, but i do have a screen protector on my ipad and its like.

The one that feels like paper so since i do use my ipad to edit all of my videos and i use the apple pencil to hand, write everything that i can. I wanted to get the screen protector that felt like paper, so that it was a little bit easier to write on and glide my apple pencil on and everything so between the regular screen protector thats. Just like very glossy. I ended up going for the paper like one from amazon. I believe it came in like a pack of two and its just very, very useful. I highly recommend that as well so yeah. That is my ipad, and the second thing that i want to tell you guys about: is my camera like what you guys are even watching me on? This is probably my most frequently asked question in the comment box, but i actually use a compact vlogging camera for all of my videos and i dont have an external mic or anything else. Really. I just use the camera and a working tripod, so you guys are watching me right now on a sony, zv1 vlogging camera, and i did a lot of research on what to get. I knew that the canon g7x was like probably the most popular camera, but for some reason i think the rebellion and we just didnt want to get the one that every single person had. So i did a lot of research and this camera that you guys are watching me on right now, actually came out at a similar time that i was starting my channel.

I love the 70zb1, its very compact. It fits in my everyday purse. Sony made their own hand tripod. That is supposed to complement the sony. Zb1 camera really well, and i really love it. I think its so nice because you can kind of angle the camera to be a little bit more wide angle without having to actually change the lens, because you cannot change the lens on the sonys ev1 for my first camera. I just wanted something compact, something good and i love it. I think that the color is really nice on this camera, like im, filming right now, natural daylight. I think that the background to focus is really nice. Theres active steady shot if theres anything to invest in definitely would recommend the camera. Your phone actually does work really well, if you want to start there, but if i were to suggest anything, i love the sony zv1 its so compact, and i just i could not have started my channel with all these things without my camera, so yeah thats. What i use a sony, zv1, maybe ill, just link it in my description box always from now on, but yeah, okay, so those are honestly all of the big pieces of equipment that i use for my channel its really nothing crazy or nothing like elaborate. I just have my camera, my ipad, my apple pencil and a tripod. Those are like the four big things and they were pretty big chunks of money.

The camera that you guys were watching it was around 700. The tripod itself was, i think, like 50, and then i mean this thing alone was like again. I think i cant remember but im pretty sure it was like a thousand dollars, so so yeah just big investments, but i told myself that the only way that i was going to really start a channel in the first place was to actually invest money into it. Those are all the big pieces of equipment, but i also have this little bag here of all the other accessories and things that i need for my youtube channel. But i got this cosmetic bag from amazon and i just like it because it holds everything that i need and when i need to it does fit my camera and my tripod. So when im traveling, i can just take all this and my ipad and im good to go for all of my videos, but lets see whats in this okay. So first i have an sd card holder. When i first started my channel, i didnt realize that i was going to need more than one memory card. I have three and like memory cards are really small. You guys. So i got this sd card holder from amazon, and i love this. This theres a dewey studios sticker on the back, but it just looks like a little like suitcase almost, but it opens up to hold all of your memory cards.

So i love this. I have different sizes. I have one thats 256 gigs, one thats 128 kegs, and then i have one that is 64 gigs and that came with like the whole vlogging kit, with my camera, but 64 gigs honestly only holds like 40 minutes of footage. So for my long vlogs, i needed something: a lot bigger, so yeah. This is the sd card, holder, um, okay! Next i have, i dont even know exactly what this is called you guys, but this is from sandisk and its an ssd external hard drive. Im. Pretty sure thats what this is, but this is like the more compact version of an actual external hard drive. So theres no fan – or probably you guys, probably know like the big ones, but this small thing holds and stores and saves all the videos that ive made. So, like all of my hard work and like hundreds of hours that i put into my videos, is all in here – and i dont know what i would do without this im, not someone that can just like delete my videos from my device when i upload it To youtube, i want to be able to save it and have it as like memories for myself. What if one day youtube just like doesnt work and it deletes all of my videos and the whole platform is down, then what would i have done with all those hours? So i like to keep all of my videos in this one external hard drive.

It actually comes in like this usbc port, but it also came with a usb port. So when i can or when i need to, i can plug this into my macbook and use the usb port but yeah. This is what i use to store all of my videos. Okay, then i have an sd card reader, so this is an adapter that i plug into my ipad, and this is what i use to import all of my footage from my memory card to lumafusion the app that i used to edit didnt realize i would need One of these things, but i do i believe its only like 10 bucks on amazon but dont, know what i would do without this. I need this to edit and i guess thats like something i didnt know i needed, but you need the right adapters and then i have a bunch of like little adapters and transformers. So this one is a usb to usbc port because its just so annoying that i feel, like all my devices, are either usb or usbc, not either one. So i need this when i need a usbc. So usually, if im plugging things into my ipad pro usbc is what i need, but then, if i ever need my macbook for anything, it like barely works, but if i ever do need my macbook for anything usb, so its always good to have these little adapters In hand they do come in handy more than i thought, and then i have my apple pencil grip.

I love this thing because you guys know that i use my handwriting for all of my youtube videos. This thing just helps the apple pencil grip a lot better, because i have a love, hate relationship with this thing, one of my best friends jay. He actually got this pencil grip for me. I love it when im actually using it because its just easier to grip and to actually like handwrite things, but the hard part is that it doesnt attach and it doesnt like stay to my ipad. So if i have this on all the time im just going to lose this and im not going to know where i put it because it doesnt attach to the magnet and it wont fit in the little apple pencil slot, so love hate relationship. With this thing, i hope to never lose the actual grip, but i feel like i will at some point so for now. I just keep it in this bag, so i havent lost it yet, but it is very useful when i am using it and then i have my air pods. I dont, i feel, like this doesnt really like make or break making a youtube channel or anything, but these are just my airpods. I use these to edit all the time. My airpod pro case is also from case by its so cute, its customizable. As i put my initials on it, everything that i own that protects any of my apple devices is all from case 5.

My ipad case my air pods case. My even my phone case is from case by this is the cutest one ever its black marble, and it has my initials in the middle, and i just literally cannot speak enough good things about case 5. Airpods pro always need these to edit, especially when im editing in public and sometimes when im doing like the final watch through my video ill watch it on my airpods, just because it has like better sound quality that way so yeah. These are my airpod pros and the last thing that is in my youtube channel accessory holder extra battery packs you guys. This is also something that i was not expecting at all and i just had no idea, but the battery on the camera that you guys are watching actually only lasts, maybe like 40 minutes and a lot of times, im vlogging a lot more than that. I film. So much that you guys just dont see because i want to be able to have all the options for all of that footage. So when im on the go, i do need extra battery packs, just in case my battery runs out in my camera and i need to film more things. My camera only came with one battery, so i quickly realized when i started filming videos that i needed extra ones in hand, extra battery packs thats what you need to okay.

Well, i think thats everything, oh my god. This felt like a very short video and i feel like honestly, i was everywhere in this video, especially in the beginning, but i hope all this made sense. I hope you guys had fun. I guess getting a better glimpse of everything that i used for my youtube channel. I dont use my macbook pro. I feel like thats, like the big thing that makes me like unique in this situation. I dont use my macbook pro to edit. I hope to one day, hopefully by the end of this year. If the new macbook comes out, i will have enough money saved up to do that, but but yeah you dont need a macbook just because everyone uses that and final cut pro doesnt mean that you have to i didnt and im still doing just fine dont forget That i do have a 15 off case if i code, if you want to use it no pressure, but i do have it there.
